Meriharju Nature House concentrates on providing nature and environmental education and supporting sustainable development and lifestyle. The Nature House belongs to the Helsinki City Youth Department. It offers experiences, insights, learning, inspiration and empowerment in nature as well as accommodations for youth groups and organizations for their own camps and activities.
The weekdays are reserved for our own nature school activities, nature treks and environmental education days. Our programs are mainly aimed at young people and youth workers. We also organize public events like recycling days couple times a year. During weekday evenings, weekends and summertime, youth groups and organizations may use the house for their own activities for example camps, events and trainings.
The deadline to apply for next year’s weekend & summer dates is in mid September.
Meriharju Nature House is located in eastern Helsinki in Uutela forest and outdoor activities area (about 16 km from the center of Helsinki) which consists of a rocky and foresty cape surrounded by the sea. It offers good opportunities to enjoy the diverse forest area and a long coastline.
The house itself is over 100 years old villa with accommodations for 34 campers. All visitors, please contact us before visiting. Contact information here.
